Reflection
I didn't receive too much feedback on my first elevator pitch, but overall I agree with what was said. I received a few comments stating that I spoke at a good pace, which I agree with. I generally speak very fast and was very cognizant of the pace I spoke at when filming. I think speaking at a moderate pace is very important, especially when delivering an elevator pitch. I also received some comments about how they enjoyed my opening. I opened with a hypothetical situation relating to my product and got straight to the point. I did receive feedback stating that I seem a little unsure of myself, which slightly surprised me. I was memorizing my pitch, so it's possible that my unsureness in memorization came across as unsureness overall.
Based on the feedback, I added more content and spoke a little faster, so the pitch didn't seem like it was dragging on. I also placed the camera closer, although nobody explicitly commented on that.
Hey Tara, nice work with this pitch. Your intonation was well done and you really knew your speech. For your next pitch, I would consider adding in a sentence about how the current "do not disturb" system on apple phones is not good enough. You could also put in a couple more details about how exactly your product works. Overall, you did very well with gesturing, emotion, and professionalism.
ReplyDeleteI really liked that you started with a visual and then backed it up with statistics. I think that this creates a very clear picture of what the problem you are solving truly is. I think you kept high energy throughout the pitch and articulated your idea very well! I think you did a really good job overall!
ReplyDeleteHi Tara. I thought you gave a great presentation. You made great eye contact and were dynamic in your speech. I agree with Owen regarding giving a little more information on how the system works and how it would be implemented into a company. The statistic you added was great and you showed how your product could benefit companies and their employees. -Carrie Steinolfson
ReplyDeleteHi Tara,
ReplyDeleteYou did an excellent job overall with your elevator pitch. I saw your first elevator pitch as well and I think that you definitely improved. You maintained a great pace throughout your pitch and spoke very persuasively. I admired the fact that you were able to maintain eye contact constantly throughout the pitch, this really improved the overall quality of your pitch.
Hi Tara!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your intro, and the fact that you used facts n your pitch. I also liked how it seemed like a casual conversation. The ending was good too, and it left you yearning to have more information on the topic, which is what you want. I too had to adjust the speed at which I speak and I also edited some of my. content, in order to follow instructions from the assignment.
